I dont know if the rules permit me to post somebody else's poem.I hope Priya doesnt mind.. Smile
But on the eve of Independence day,I take the liberty to do so. Razz

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

-Rabindranath Tagore

I hope this spirit engulfs each one of us..transcending nationalities..and I hope the world becomes a better place to live in- a world where the head is held high Smile

Hehe i read this speech/poem in a class last semester Very Happy

We may have won our freedom, but we r still to achieve so many things described in this poem. Hope we are able to achieve those soon.

Happy independence day to all Very Happy

And if it all falls apart, I will know deep in my heart, the only dream that mattered had come true. In this life, I was loved by you.
